AGE DIVISIONS: BOYS AND GIRLS - 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U 


QUALIFICATIONS: All athletes and coaches with current AAU Memberships are eligible to compete.


AAU MEMBERSHIP: All athletes will become members of the AAU through participation in this event. All coaches must purchase an AAU Non-Athlete Membership at least two weeks prior to the event, and are subject to a background check. TOURNAMENT FORMAT: 5 game minimum + championship


ONLINE REGISTRATION & ENTRY DEADLINE: Entries must be completed online by July 1, 2019.   Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover is accepted.  


HOUSING: This is NOT a Stay to Play tournament. The AAU makes every effort to provide the best quality experience for athletes, coaches and families that participate in AAU events. Athletes, coaches and families can choose from a wide variety of accommodations in various price points and with several levels of amenities. The Local Organization Committee and PSE Housing Services have carefully selected host hotels for participants with the lowest rates available. The hotels selected for the program not only provide great rates, but also the greatest convince in regards to location and other amenities. 

All Reservations are handled through PSE Housing Services. DO NOT CONTACT THE HOTELS DIRECTLY AS YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE THE DISCOUNTED RATE. AAU is not responsible for any refunds from cancellation. 



RULES OF PLAY: Competition will be governed by the competitive rules of the Junior Olympic Lacrosse and the AAU. The AAU Junior Olympic games will adopt the rules of US Lacrosse with the exception of the following guidelines:  

Format: 6 v 6 Olympic style, 5 field players and 1 goalie 

Field Size: For ALL age groups is 60 yards x 40 yards 

Time:Four 8 minute quarters running time

General:

  • Face offs/Draws at the beginning of each quarter only; play resuming after goals with the goalie's retrieval of the ball.   
  • No offside, with all 6 players from one side eligible to attack the goal.
  • Possession on shot out of bounds determined by which team last touched the ball
  • All boys will wear all protective gear including helmet, mouthpiece, shoulder pads, arm pads and gloves. These are required by rule.
  • All girls will wear all protective gear required by rule including goggles and a mouthpiece. 
  • The goalies for both boys and girls will wear all of the protective gear required by rule which includes helmet, mouthpiece, chest protector, throat protector and gloves as well as a protective cup for the boys.


AWARDS: AAU Junior Olympic Games medals will be awarded to all members of the top four (4) teams.


TEAM CHECK-IN: Coaches must check-in team before being allowed to compete.  Coaches will check-in their teams at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex to receive their athlete credential or coach wristband. The appropriate credential or wristband will be needed prior to gaining admittance into the competition venues. Coaches should check-in their teams at least the day prior to competing. If that credential or wristband is lost or stolen there will be a replacement fee. For check-in hours, maps and additional directions please visit www.aaujrogames.org (click on Event Info, then Registration).


CELEBRATION OF ATHLETES: The Celebration of Athletes will be held on Monday July 29, 2019 at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Stadium.  You won't want to miss this year's Celebration! More information will be posted at www.aaujrogames.org as it becomes available.


PARKING: Some locations may have parking fees. Please visit www.aaujrogames.org and click on Maps & Directions for more information. Also, some hotels may charge for parking.  Please check with your hotel for specific information as prices vary. 


TRANSPORTATION: Participants and spectators are responsible for their own transportation to and from all activities, events, and hotels.


SECURITY: All AAU Junior Olympic Games facilities maintain the right to search any bags, backpacks, purses, jackets, etc. throughout the duration of the AAU Junior Olympic Games. No bells, whistles, air horns, cow bells or excessive noise makers will be permitted.


FOOD: All AAU Junior Olympic Games facilities maintain exclusive rights to concessions.  Outside food and beverage are not permitted throughout the duration of the AAU Junior Olympic Games.  No grills or generators are allowed


ADMISSION FEE: Athletes and coaches with a credential will receive admission to all competition venues and the Celebration of Athletes as part of your entry fee. Please note that you must check-in and pick up your credential prior to receiving admittance into any venue, including the Celebration of Athletes. You must have the appropriate wristband or credential. 


NO GUARANTEE: The AAU cannot and does not guarantee the appearance and/or participation of specific participant(s) and/or teams (as applicable) in this event. The AAU has licensed (approved) this Event as an official AAU Event (competition), but the AAU is not and shall not be responsible for any participant's or spectator's expenses related to this Event (nor reimbursements for same) in case of dissatisfaction of any participant, friend, family, or spectator, this includes, but is not limited to all travel, hotel (lodging), food, entry fees and/or any other expenses related to the event.
